How do I transfer Emails from One Gmail Account to Another

GmailMany people have two Gmail accounts and it becomes quite inconvenient to check mails on the two accounts continuously. The process is not only irritating but also time consuming. However, Gmail provides three different ways to make this process much more convenient and make the whole process convenient and easy to use.

You can forward all your mails to the other mail address by setting up a filter

The first feature includes making use of a filter for forwarding all the mails from one account to another. In this feature you just need to setup a filter which will then automatically forward emails to the desired Gmail account which you are currently using. Also, it is desired to keep alive the older Gmail account in case you are not using the auto forward option. You can even forward your selected mails by creating a filter.

Enable POP/IMAP

The other option is using the POP feature of Gmail. For using this feature you need to make changes in the settings of your old Gmail account from where you want to export the emails. This can be done by the POP option present in settings menu. Thereafter, you need to select the import option present in the new Gmail account. Now, all the emails in you older Gmail account will be sent to new Gmail account. However, Gmail’s chat history is not transferred in this and may take hours for transfer of mails to take place.

P.S. – We’d recommend IMAP access of your emails as it will provide two-way communication between your client and Gmail.

The third option is complete transfer of mails along with the labels. To make the mailbox an organised one, you may chose to put the mails in certain folders and arrange it at a later point of time.

All these options are equally convenient to follow and provide you every important feature of transferring mails between two Gmail accounts.
